Welcome to Scout Troop 28

Proudly Scouting Since 1950

For over sixty years, Troop 28 has been building young men of excellent character through Scouting. We stress leadership, personal responsibility, fun, friendship and outdoor adventures.

Youth who have earned the Arrow of Light rank and are at least 10 years old, or have completed the fifth grade and are at least 10, or who are 11, but not yet 18 years old are welcome to join Troop 28.

For grades K - 5, contact Burlingame or Hillsborough CUB SCOUT Packs. 1) https://www.troopwebhostcs.org/Pack128Burlingame/Index.htm  2) https://www.facebook.com/hillsboroughcubs Pack 58

We are grateful to be sponsored by Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, 415 El Camino Real, Burlingame. Our troop meetings are generally held the first and third Monday of each month, from 7 - 8:15 pm.  Click on Contact Us if you're interested in learning more about Troop 28 or would like to attend one of our meetings.

Our troop is Scout-led, and our adult staff is highly trained. Our emphasis is on quality, not quantity, and we achieve good results by having the parents of our Scouts reinforce the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law at home.  Our parent group has high participation in providing the scaffolding for the scouts to build the program on.

Our troop is engaged in camping, hiking, backpacking, river rafting, skiing and service projects. We practice the patrol method, and emphasize creating experiences that are both meaningful and memorable.  Our troop culture practices what we call the straight A’s: attendance, appearance, activity, advancement, accountability, and awards.

Castle Rock Backpacking Trip (Santa Cruz Mountains) Oct 22-23

Posted on Oct 16 2016 - 6:51am

Along the crest of the Santa Cruz Mountains, Castle Rock State Park embraces coast redwood, Douglas-fir, and madrone forest, most of which has been left in its wild, natural state. Steep canyons are sprinkled with unusual rock formations that are popular with rock climbers. The forest here is lush and mossy, crisscrossed by 32 miles of hiking and horseback riding trails. These trails are part of an even more extensive trail system that links the Santa Clara and San Lorenzo valleys with Castle Rock State Park, Big Basin Redwoods State Park, and the Pacific Coast.
